Delicious, with a hint of sweetness, hummus - made with green peas - very tasty!
So many people love hummus but not everyone tried to replace chickpea by green pea. I must admit that I like this one more then the chickpea one :)
Worth trying as green pea has many healthy benefits:
- it is loaded with fibre which helps our digestion, feeds healthy bugs in our gut and allow them to produce nourishing short chain fatty acids. fibre is also reducing blood sugar level spikes after a meal
- some research shows green pea might help preventing stomach cancer - due to a compound named coumestrol
- there is assciation of higher intake of green pea and legumes and lower risk of diabetes may be connected not only with the relatively low glycemic index of green peas (about 45-50) and their strong fiber and protein content, but also with this unusual combination of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients
Why not to try this delicious hummus and enjoy all benefits of green pea?
